Run from God

We run from God because we want what we want, when we want it, and we will do anything to get what we want... whether it's morally right or wrong. So we keep a distance from God, intentionally or instinctively, to prevent what we see coming... guilt. But what if guilt didn't have to be what follows a wayward desire? What if guilt never was, because responded to the red flag warnings before we felt it - those off-feelings, those second-guesses, those moment weighing-ins of maybe not... Maybe this isn't right... An internal conviction. I'm starting to believe that conviction may be our most loyal life compass. Conviction exist to keep us from guilt, in fact. Conviction is what steers us from evil and guides us back to God, to good, however unwanted or undesirable it may be in the moment. I think most of run from God because we don't want guilt, and we're cowards to it's precursor-conviction-afraid of what it will keep us from possessing. But what if God was just trying to keep us from having what's wrong for us, what if He was keeping us from what we briefly know isn't best, but what God is certain isn't right. It's hard to believe it, because we don't share a mind with God. His ways are higher than we can see, and that's difficult to accept, to put faith in, especiallllllly in times of limited-vision-want. But what if God had our best interest in mind the entire time and we responded to that statement with bold acts of faith in our daily decision making. I think that would change much.
