BELLE YAP | HER LAST JOURNEY

THE JOURNEY | Belle came into our family through my brother’s friend’s dog. She had 5 little puppies. We firstly wanted a male dark brown dog. Due to circumstances, we couldn’t have him. Then came Belle, female, white with brown patches. We took her into our family. She was probably less than one month old. I remember the day my siblings brought you home.

Honestly, I was terrified. I always have the fear for 4-legged animals. We had our first dog, Symphony but he didn’t last long in our family. Then came Belle. I remember clearly, when Belle was beginning to be active and curious, for the whole 3 months, my family had to do special arrangements. I would do everything upstairs including having my meals. On the 3rd month, my mom was tired of me and then on, each time I had to come down to either go school or to have a meal or to simply just get into the car, one of my siblings would have to take Belle out for a ‘walk’. I couldn’t remember how long that lasted, but that was the life I had when Belle first came.

Then one day, Belle was attacked by a tick that is eating up her heart. That was what I understood till today. I remember that day, somehow nobody was around except my sister and me. Belle was pale white around her lips. We had to bring her to see the doctor. When my sister says, “Ling, you hold her, I’ll drive”. Those words horrified me. How am I supposed to hold her when I have not even touch her ever? And the journey from our house to PJ states clinic was far. Probably 30 minutes ride, but sounds like forever. Yet, there wasn’t any choice. Either I let her die or I die. So I wrapped up myself (long sleeves, long pants, high socks, shoe), sat inside the car and allow my sister to put Belle on my lap. My sister assured me that Belle wouldn’t move much as she is very sick. Gosh, she was wrong! The journey to the clinic was indeed forever. The number of times she shakes and moves almost brought me to numerous heart attacks. Finally, when we reach the clinic, my sister took over and I stayed in the car. Why? Because there were many other BIGGER dogs around. Then my sister called me down. Each step I took feels like danger. Any time any dog suddenly let out loose will attack. You who loved animals reading this will never understand the ‘danger’ I felt. True enough, this huge Labrador black dog barked at me. I almost fell back, then another sharper louder bark came along, but this time, to the Labrador. Belle fiercely barked to protect me because she clearly sense that I was in danger. Let me remind you, she was sick, pale and weak. Yet she gave it all to ensure me that she is there to protect me even when I have never love her yet. After all her checkups and doctor decided that she needs to be in the hospital for treatment. So we made appointment for the next day. And now, I am back into the car, she was on my lap again. This round, for the very first time, I patted her. I TOUCHED her.

My parents and siblings sent her to the hospital for treatment. She was there for a long while. We visited her, and each time we left, we could hear her cry. Doctors were telling us that she refuses to eat. And when we visited her, then only she eats cat food. That was what I was told. I actually pray that she doesn’t turn to act like one. And finally, she is back home. Still a little weak, but definitely stronger. I was downstairs waiting for her. She walks into the house, frantically went to my brother and mother. Then when she noticed I was standing there, she brakes her speed like how a car suddenly had to brake for emergency stop. I just froze up. She just walks one circle around me and then sat in front of me waiting for me to pat her. That was what I was told that she wanted a pat from me. With standing distance, I lay my palm towards her head, she bows her head down (instead of other dogs, jumping to give a nose high5), she lies down and wait patiently for my palm to pat her. And I did it. I have OVERCOME her.

Next few months became easier as I no longer have the fear. I could have her running up and down without me freaking out. I could pat her and even taught her tricks. My favourite tricks was teaching her left- and right-hand handshakes. Can yours differentiate left and right? Mine can. Yes, mine. I began LOVING her.

As some years later, there happen to have a cat that came into the house. It was on attack-mode. No idea why it came in, but I was in the house. 4-legged cat. Fear creep in. I called Belle. Belle dash out not knowing what she was facing. Curiously, Belle didn’t bark at it. And then claws from the cat’s paws attacked Belle. I screamed, and Belle sense I felt ‘danger’ once more, barked so loud till our house doorbell rang. The cat attacked and Belle fiercely bite the cat down. And sorry, the cat died from struggle. Then along the years, came many cats, snakes, squirrels… and all died from struggle. It might sound like Belle is such a merciless dog, but she’s just doing what she senses. There’s ‘intruders’ in the house and she knows her family will be in danger. She PROTECTED us.

Then, I graduate and started working. I had a job then that requires me to travel a lot and work till late nights. Each time I arrive home, Belle was there wagging her tail so so hard that it will bruise you up if you happen to stand next to her wag. I remember those nights she waited for me to be home. And whenever I arrived, she would jump on me and lick me. (she does it to every one of us whenever we enter the door) I felt such warm and loving welcome.

One incident happened again, and Belle was sick and down. She had to stay in the hospital for weeks. And when she was back home, she seems older now. But her fiercely barking remains. When she was all well and up again, we played. She has this yellow rubber ducky that she loves so much. If we want to take it from her, she’ll growl at us. It was like her baby. Each time she happens to be accidentally let out loose outside, whenever we call her, she runs further. If we chase her, she runs even further. The only way to bring her home, rubber ducky squeaks. Immediately she will be back home, wanting to take her ducky like we have took her baby.

As she grows older, came along my first nephew. Her first encounter with him. She drops her ducky and went to him. We knew she loved him. He has taken over the ducky’s position in her heart. Then came my niece. She loved Belle but due to her sensitivity, we had to keep her away from Belle. Belle knew her condition and then on, Belle will just walk pass her with occasionally a quick lick if she happens to be toddling around Belle. Then came my second nephew. Gosh, he super loved Belle. He wasn’t afraid. He wasn’t sensitive. He almost to say, lovingly bullied Belle. Belle also lovingly allowed him to pull her tail, sit on her, lie on her and all sorts. They were like really really good friends. On days when Belle refuse to answer our calls or refuse to eat/drink, he would “command” her and Belle will just follow and do as he says. Such relationship BUILT.

This year, 2018, Belle became very sick. She fell and couldn’t walk. We took her to the doctor and only to find out that she was diagnosed with cancer – 4th stage. We did some testing and scanning, and the doctor say, “Spent time with her during this CNY. Let her do whatever she wants, eat whatever she wants. Spent time with her”. Our hearts sank. We never thought it would be that fast. We never thought it would be this year. There wasn’t any sign of suffering on her. She was still active. She may be old, but she’s active and barking too. But to hear those words from the vet doctor, it’s the hardest. It was then that I realized, we never actually had an entire family photo with her in it. So during CNY, I gathered everyone and we took our very first photo with her. It was beautiful. Belle is FAMILY.

When we took her back monthly for her check up with the cancer specialist, in March, doctor was surprise to see her and we did another scan. Her cancer has spread everywhere. But there was still no sign of leaving yet. We asked the doctor what will be the symptoms: she’ll be breathing with her mouth, couldn’t walk, refuse to eat/drink, coughing. Nope, no sign of those. In April, doctor was again surprised. Medical says her condition was bad and shouldn’t be alive already. But family support and prayers remain her alive. Doctor says it was a miracle and if this keep coming, she will live another 3 more months.

LIVING HER LAST DAYS | Middle April enters. Belle suddenly became very weak. She was slowing down. We all knew the day is getting closer. Last week, Belle shows fake signs of symptoms mentioned earlier. We called in for a house doctor to operate euthanasia on her. But we canceled it as us siblings decided that those signs weren’t exactly it. One week later, till today, Belle had a major reverse in her condition. She no longer could walk, no longer able to stand, refuse to eat and drink, overturns due to pain, breathing and panting heavily with her mouth, and every night, she’ll cries out in pain. We all knew it was time. Are we ready? We will never be but we had to let her go. Seeing her suffer like that made her living worthless. It hurts so much when I had to do the call to the doctor. It hurts more when I had to call for her burial. It hurts most when the day is TODAY.

For some strange reason, when the procedure begins, you didn’t struggle and you stood still, and brave. Perhaps it was your sense of pride – 15 years. A small size dog like you, always clean, always active, and always loud, you are proud of yourself. We are proud of you too. We said our last thank you to Belle, especially thanking her for being in our family. As the vet doctor led you away, you look at us as if to say, “Thank you for taking care of me.” I thought, “No… thank you for everything. Thank you for entering into my life. Half of my lifetime now was with you. 15 years being with you, calling out your name. I have no idea what will it be like tomorrow and days after, but I’m pretty sure every bit of me will miss you totally.”

THE HARDEST GOODBYE | One month ago, I found out that dogs don’t enter Heaven. They just disappear, back to dust. One week ago, a pastor of mine shared that Jesus came to bring new earth in Heaven, and in Heaven there is no limit of space. Therefore, the possibility for new growth can happen. Meaning, Belle might be in Heaven. There’s no internal/external evidence to this saying, but this gives me hope. I think the hardest part of losing a dog you learnt to love isn’t having to say goodbye… it’s the way my entire world changes without Belle and the emptiness that’s left in my heart when she goes now has become memories. I will remember you. Belle, I MISS YOU already.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF BELLE

The most devoted and beloved family and companion for 15 years. Born November 5, 2003. Died April 29, 2018.
There are men both good and wise who holds that in a future state. Creatures we have cherished here below shall give us joyous greeting when we pass the golden gate.       Oh! How earnestly I pray it may be so. Amen.

Hand-Foot-Mouth Disease (HFMD)

Have you ever heard of the toddler illness, Hand Foot Mouth Disease (HFMD)? Think it sounds a little made up? Think it's a joke? Allow me to reassure you that HFMD or Hand Foot Mouth Disease is no laughing matter. It is a fairly common toddler illness and a real booger of a toddler illness. This is a recount of the hellish week I got to experience this week battling this seriously awful toddler illness

Oh, it's been a rotten week at our house. I'm not even going to sugar-coat it. Monday night my niece whimpered and cried sporadically all through the night. We initially thought she was having a common fever, but the next day, my mother took her to the doctor and found a couple of canker sores in her mouth. My niece began to refuse to eat. Anything. NOTHING AT ALL. She even refuse to drink. That night the whimpering and crying began 2x louder. My sister stayed over at my place because we wouldn't want her son (my nephew) to get it as well. So my house was my niece's quarantine place.

My nephew once had it but it wasn't as serious as my niece. The reason for this post, apart from the obvious whining and venting, is to inform anyone who might actually read this about HFMD and this is also a testimony of God's instant answering to "YES AND AMEN".

HFMD a virus of a toddler illness and there's not a single thing you can do to cure it. It's a matter of waiting it out. Try telling that to a sobbing one-year old. Brutal.

Google has a lot of soothing remedies. Anything cold and icy has helped my niece for a short period of 5 minutes and after that the crying and whining and venting all began again. It became our major concern when she is there crying her lungs out and there is not a single drop of water down her throat.
Anyway, the really important thing for you to do for your child is make sure they are at least drinking. Do everything you can to prevent them from becoming dehydrated. If that happens you might end up forcing and flushing down liquids to their sore throat.

The next day, it was a series of mini-naps with LOUD crying and screaming episodes intermingled. So that night, it was all over the house, all the screaming and crying, my whole family simply just hope there is some instant magical power that we can do to soothe my niece who were tortured by this mysterious toddler illness.

SO how did we solve that horrible second night with HFMD? Because my niece kept crying and crying, we did all ways to try to soothe and comfort her but it just didn't work. Because we are a Christian family, we turn it to a mini prayer meeting. My dad took the lead to start praying for her, laying hands on her, each of us also started praying for her, speaking peace and comfort, asking Jesus to take the pain and itchiness from her (the photo in this post is the combination of her eczema + HFMD which equals to a BIG horror for my niece), and true enough, after moments of praying, it comforted her, she began to stop crying, drank a lil water and her milk and off she went to sleep soundly. Yes, prayer WORKS. That was the instant magical power from Jesus. If there is no cure for HFMD, it's okay because our God is a Healer.

Today, she was better. No crying at all throughout the day. She took in porridge and drank her milk. She now drinks water as well. No more mini-naps. It is all a full-napping time for her. Yes, praise God for listening our prayers. If your toddler is facing such as well, and you are hopeless in comforting your lil one, try praying to Jesus. Trust me, it works.

Reflecting 2010

Life in the year 2010 has been like an airplane ride. You will always know when you will take off and land, and where you will be.... but you will never know the encounters you bump into before, during and after the flight. But in every flight, I thank God. My year 2010 journey sums up to this: Jump whilst it is time!

January 2010 – Work. Going crazy and up-side-down in my work place. Interviews after interviews. But worth for the experience and the exposure. The month went so fast that I truly cannot remember how this month went. All I know, I worked hard day & night & midnight. God’s strength & grace helped me through it all.

February 2010 – Catching up. Was blessed with a trip of 3D2N in Miri by a very close friend. Had to help him for his wedding dinner and it was also a time catching up with a girlfriend of mine.

March 2010 – A change of life. I resigned from my job which was my grounding for the better future. And it was also a time whereby I see how God actually work in my life. How He provided everything, making a way for it all and also opening my family’s heart in accepting what He has in-stored for me.

April 2010 – The divine arrangement that gave me the blessing to go serving the Lord FULL TIME. God has been showing me lots of His greatness that I knew that even if I don't know why I have this heart to go full time, or what other people say it as "a radical idea" because throughout my life since I knew Christ, God work unexpectedly. I live by faith.

May 2010 – Where encouragement begins. Twitter is my favourite tool now… may my Twitter be known to encourage and not discourage. May all that followed me in twitter, read my tweets and be blessed. Thank you for Twitter.

June 2010 – The start of a lifetime journey. From being one person in an office… I now have colleagues permenantly as well as lunch partners. Since the start being in church, I have already being invited to speak for 2 children camps.

July 2010 – Mission at the door. National Service going crazy! Consecutively 4 weeks teaching the lesson truly brings back the memories! Heading for NS weekly with Krystal truly allows me to know her better. NS is a must to go on because 3 months of knowing that the seed will be sowed, some will be reap, and some will be harvested. But most important, the seeds will be sowed. And the day will come where you’ll hear, “I know God through National Service”. Amen!

August 2010 – Khmer land. This trip is one that God used me to preach to the youths. Never have I ever felt the strongness of God in me when I shared. At the moment when I shared, I sense a great power and authority that was given to me that needed to be shared and preached to the youths there. Truly supernaturally amazed.

September 2010 – changeyourworld. Got involve in the city clean up. Though we are a small group, but out actions impacted the surroundings and the people who passes by the place we clean. We did significant out ourselves and we change our world one at a time.

October 2010 – Solitude. There is always a time for everything. And I dedicated this month, a time of prayer, a personal time with God.

November 2010 – Change180°. My major-iest event since full time. The camp consisted only 50% of our target…but these 50% children, their lives changed, transformed….whatever you call it. Even the lives of the team that plan, organize and execute the whole thing. Myself, I felt uplifted especially how God used me to touched the lives of many children. Seeing them praising & worshiping God, seeing them responding to the altar, seeing them playing and smilng all around… I humbly thank God for everything.

December 2010 – Kamisama anata wo ashiteru yo! God loves you in Japanese! Mission trip to Okinawa with a bonus transit to Taipei. One mission trip that I love because I shared my life story in hope that it encourages the people I meet. Though we have some tough communication, but God use us differently and uniquely that we are able to communicate well. And I learned that clean & dry toilets are EVER best! Kudos to cleaners who clean the toilets. Well done good and faithful servant.

Overall 2010
I am humble to be able serve God with great people.
I thank God for E Von, without her I don’t know if I can pull 2010 through.
I am encouraged by James for his maturity of his faith.
I am inspired by Jaeson Ma for his daily teaching on Love & Glory.
I am grateful to family & friends who have been there for me unfailingly.
I cherish Wen for everything.
I appreciate Hock for his mentoring and shepherding.
I never fail to love children & youth in and out.
I treasure my life....
A life gifted by God.
Amen.

True Love #5: The Finale

Just had to do this....

Am grateful to all my teachers & helpers for True Love #5 - Finale!!! God has been great. Ever since after camp, I sense that God is beginning to answer all prayers. I remember praying for the ministry to grow and week after week, I see new people. Although it maybe just one, but one is still ONE. I have given my life path to God and I truly know that His every step laid for me is His best and am already seated in this crazy life. I never had come to imagine that life is a beautiful thing when God is in it. His every presence, every miracle just made me love Him even more. Truly I have seen God's glory shining in the children ministry and I know, more to come.

Like I have tweeted last night, it was awesomer than awesome! :)

I can't wait to go prayer meetings

Yesterday, Wednesday (10 Mar, 2010), one of those days where prayer meetings was a must to go. But yesterday was different. It wasn't a must to go but a "can't wait to go". Can't wait to pray, can't wait be in God's presence, can't wait to pray for Malaysia because it is only in prayer meetings, that I notice, there's no obligation to wait. I went home early from work, showered and ate quickly, and I even went to church early because I just can't wait to go for prayer meeting.

I'm an active twitter, I tweet everyday at most of the time because it was a place where the moment there was a word from God, I tweet about it for the ones that followed me on twitter in order to help and encourage them. And I'm glad I am an active twitter. Reason being, so nicely, a friend of mine, she followed me on my twitter. She told me this morning that because she read all the tweets about my "can't wait to go for prayer meeting", she too got excited and decided to attend her church prayer meeting which happens to be on Wednesday too. And she was telling me that it was her fist time and it will not be her last time. I have no idea what happen in her church prayer meeting, but one thing for sure, she rededicated her life to Jesus again. And she also told me that she commit herself to go prayer meetings. I remember asking God last night, "why am I so excited?". Now I know. :)

Btw, the word twitter is found in the bible. "Insomniac, I twitter away, mournful as a sparrow in the gutter" - Psalm 102, The Message.

And this is what I tweeted via twitter yesterday:
1st: prayer meeting tonight. :) about 21 hours ago via web
2nd: can't wait to get myself to church. i can't believe i'm saying this but i miss church! :) about 19 hours ago via web
3rd: sudden thought: Service can don't attend, but Prayer meetings must. :) haha about 19 hours ago via web
4th: Pr Jaeson tweeted, "I seriously think revival is breaking out in our community of GBS...when more people show up to prayer meeting than church service..revival!" This reminds me, I got a prayer meeting tonight to attend. A must to go, a looking forward one. :) about 17 hours ago via web

Enjoy, and see you in prayer meeting next week. :)

LHCC@Toul Kork (4-9 Aug 2009)

Living Hope Christ Church, Toul Kork, Phnom Penh, Cambodia! I never regret going there. Its was an awesome trip!!! Not only I had super duper triple fun, but I met fantastic friends. =)
It was one trip that I'll never forget and I'll visit again NEXT YEAR!

So what exactly happened?? It was a youth mission trip and our team gave like a leadership training kinda thing to the leaders and the active youths over there. They were needing some encouragement..and I hope that what our team did truly have their flame always fire up for God and never stop sparkling!! =D That I'll leave to God. We just let God do what needs to be done.

Food?? AWESOME!!!!!!!! I super love their bananas....OK..i don't really like Bananas..but their bananas were just so nicey to EAT! Haha... oh.. my accomodation? SUPERB! LOL... such luxury, I am not complaining!!!! We have cable TV ok?? I watched Friends, Boys over Flowers.. LOL =P
Traffic... OMG Horrifying!! So scary!~ Worst than Penang, worst than Ipoh, worst than KL. But I salute to them who drives on the road, awesome job!!! Coz they are all nominated for the best drivers in TOWN!!!

God truly provided everything. From our worries about the whole entire place, God gave us comfort, God helped us financially that we even have extra, God blessed us with great friendship that it was a heart-breaking to leave. I don't know what to say, but I truly cried. Especially when they sang the song. Gosh, my tears just drop even before they started singing, when they were praying, I already have tears in my eyes!!!! It was just so so so heart-heavy loaded-felt to know that I'm leaving that place on that day. I miss you all!!!!

God, by Your will, Yours to say, can I go back there again next year and every year??? Let You to decide. Love You Jesus, and thank You for everything!!! It's been an awesome mission trip to the maximum!! And I truly know the team that went with me agree!!

Highlight: I had balut! From wikipedia, a balut is a fertilized duck egg with nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. Its quite a common food in Cambodia but popular in Phillippines. It believes to be an aphrodisiac and considered a high-protein, hearty-snack. In the Western, often used in Media like Survivor, Fear Factor, Amazing Race...
My POV: It is awesome. Not "disgusting"..but ultimately, I survived loving it! LOL Anyone wanna try?? =P

p/s: I heart this place that I spent 6 days there. And photos available all in Facebook!

Nearly lost..but didn't! =)

After CC worship practice with the girls...i drop Grace, Elise and Evon home. Knowing my previous experience, I was lost last time...so this time I make sure I ask questions like, "what sign do I look for on the way back?"..hehe.. so yea..

On the way to Kepong where the "Lai Siblings" stays....at one junction, the elder one said keep right...the younger one said keep left...end up..it was to the left... LOL...from what I've heard, they mislead many people like those with GOOD sense of direction, but PTL, they didn't mislead me. =) So reached their home safely, I was glad to have Evon with me to bring me out. And I asked her which way she knows best, and she mentioned "from our church"..so I drove all the way back to church..and she directly me from there. Reached her house, she directed me out and I accidentally...took the wrong road..but quick realization, I u-turn back..and took the other route. And nicely, I reached a divider again, and I have no idea where am I heading because the sign boards got no "PJ or KL". So I took one that I felt most comfortable with and guess where I ended?? It was Sunway Pyramid area. It was quite jam as usual, but I have no idea how get back PJ still, so I told myself, "don't panic coz it won't help. God lead me!"

After that simple prayer, immediately, flashback, seriously flashback, I remembered the route that Hock took last time. No idea when was it but I remembered. So I followed the flashback and drove back home. =) *I need to thank him for this*

Praise God. Really, I'm a girl with no sense of direction that 2 of my friends mentioned that I should invest in the GPS system (which I agree)...however, its expensive and I don't really have a car. Anyway, it was through Him that I found peace and it was through Him that I'm home now and able to blog this out.

Many will think that "what so big deal bout it?"...to me it was. I never like driving because I'm really bad on roads, as in I'll never know where am I but it was Him that given me friends to be around me, bringing me up and down that I'm back home.

Do you know how grateful am I to have you as my friend? Though sometimes, you may lead me back wrongly or rightly, but being able to reach back where I am right now, this is one achievement. Thank you!

Thank you for giving me this chance to go around, getting lost, being found, getting lost again, panic, un-panic, nearly lost, and didn't get lost and being a New Life member (which brought me home), and really thank you for everything and being awake still until I reach home to sms you. Thank you. Each and everyone of you. =)

Easter Sunday - Excess Payment

Boldly I took up the assignment. Out of no where, Pr Hock came up with an outline of the whole thing and named it "Excess Payment". From his idea, at my workplace, the inspiration came in and quickly I drafted out the script. Immediately I sent it to the leaders for commentators. And PTL, good comments received and draft 2,3,4 came out. =) With the support from Pr Hock and 2 awesome commentators, I gladly present you "Excess Payment".

The synopsis
Debt often put us under guilt, shame and fear. Living life to the fullness does require us to live wit a sense of freedom from all these condemnation. More than that, it requires to have an understanding that we already have to access to enjoy this freedom. Come and find out how you can too live on the "Excess Payment"!

The casts
Leconte L. - This guy is totally natural! He's the lead of the whole drama. He need not any guidance and with little pointers here and there, he made it all good! He is one of the ones that reply the fastest in any sms that I've sent to all, and he does encourages me in the commitment that he gives in. Thank you so much for helping in and out of the whole drama. You indeed is the fisrt and the last puzzle of this drama. Well done and thank you again.

Keith K. - He is one that improves from the starting till the ending. He isn't much talented but his great effort truly encourages me. He took the lead in the "good side" as a firm-understanding brother role. And am proud of him for all that he had put his sweat upon. Well done! And congratz on your baptism.

Wei Meng, C. - Though he's always late, but at least he's on time on the last practice. He took the leading on the "bad guys". His cool look by just standing there, totally outstanding it all. Talented guy and knowing his seriousness in this truly amazed me. Thank you so much and I must say, well done.

Krystal T. - Talented I must say she is. She did it so easily that I would say, "I'm proud of you". Her acting as a Big Sister truly amazed everyone in the congregation. Well done and thank you.

Zoe N. - Though she has a small role, but it totally help made the whole drama turn out good. Her naturalism in her role brings out a good combination to others. Well done and thank you so much. Btw, she look super hot that day!! ;)

V Sheng, C. - He was given a small role but his effort to work it out with Zoe helped a lot!!! And always being the one help out through it all. Well done. Thank you.

The background VIPs
Pr Hock - The man behind it all. He produced the audio and video effects. He stayed up late nights to make it all perfect. He prayed hard that this drama impacted lives after lives. He gave it up all even to the very last minute. Thank you so much.

Poh Yi, W. - The girl of all sound effects. She gave us cool songs which we replaced with out very first ones and that make all the difference. She isn't always creative but her ideas points out on areas that we wouldn't and seldom look into. Thank you.

Angie, C. - She helps me with all the hall booking and putting this drama into priority. Meaning, any other person who wants to book the hall, isn't able to book because Easter drama practice prioritize! =) Thank you!!!

Charmaine K. - The pretty girl in Kangaroo City that helped me throughout. Honestly, without her, I wouldn't be able to lead the whole thing. She constantly reminds me bits and there to watch out for. And truly, she indeed chip in a lot of her ideas and I was just like replacing her physically to tell the casting crew. The whole skit, I would say, though she isn't physically around, but her exciting spirit is. Thank you so much for it really meant a lot to me. From your very first mail, I knew I wasn't doing this alone. Thank you. =)

Nicholas H. - Though you didn't ask, but I knew you have helped. Your first comment indeed made me realize and put the script into another perspective. You've pointed out areas that I didn't thought about and that made a total different atmosphere. Truly enough, thank you!!

Once again, THANK YOU ALL!!!! Praise God for He made everything His way, His style, His perfectness!!

VBS@Santisuk, ChiangRai, Thailand (1-6 Apr 09)

Day 1 - 430am, my alarm rang. Drag myself up and head to church. Reach church about 6am. Pack up everything to the van and off we go. We reach LCCT and we head off for McD breakkie!!! Wei Xiong told us about his incident overnight at church where he and John nearly was lock out with no place to sleep. We check-in at about 10am++ and waited for our flight. 1 hour passed by, 2 hour passed by, our flight delayed til 1250pm!!! All of us, from being excited and all (especially Wei Xiong because it is 1st time sitting), we all were sleepy and dreaded out. =S But moment we hop into the plane, the journey begins. When we finally reach ChiangMai, Maitree picked us up. Wow, super salute the van he drove. High class with drinks served!!! First thing first, LUNCH! We had our lunch at some plaza area, a quick lunch as we are way behind scheduled. After lunch, off we hop into the van and head up to ChiangRai which is a 3 hours drive! Half way journey, we stop by at this place call "Condom Resort" for toilet break! Trust me, my reaction is the same as yours! And off again we continue our ride and finally reached ChiangRai. It was pouring rain by the time we reach ChiangRai. Maitree brought us then to Tesco to get our preparation stuff. And after that, another 15 minutes up to MeiZhen where we stayed in for a night with Pr Randall. When we reach MeiZhen, Pr Randall took us out for dinner where we had "korean bbq". =P After dinner, we head back and to our "not so surprise", there is NO water! So we had no choice but to sleep in without showering plus on the weather is COLD!~ Oh, we had our mango sticky rice too!~ Haha.. yummy sweet mango! mmmm....

Day 2 - Super woke up by the dog!!! Everyone woke up at 530am (630am Msia time). Try to wash up with the limited water in the bottle. Gather and start praying for the journey up to mountain church at Santisuk. Everyone got ready, hop into Pr Randall's van (painted NewLife Ministry), and went for breakfast whereby the porridge is mmmm.... =) So after breakfast, we hop into the truck again and mind you the weather was freezing because it rained whole night! So off was our 40minutes to an hour ride to Santisuk!!! Gosh, those sitting behind were freezing cold because the truck was open air so it was really really cold!!!!! Brrrr..... moment we reach Santisuk, unload our stuff, off we were ushered to meet Pr Yang and our VBS begins. There were about 100++ kids plus helpers. Serene started sharing after ice-breaker & PW. While Serene did her sharing, we realize that their schedule and our pre-planned schedule is WAY different. We need to push up all our schedule and after Serene's workshop, quickly Yoke Yong took over. She did a inter-change with John's session. Yoke Yong's session drastically changed from what she planned to do and immediately that caught everyone's attention and we ended with lunch. Lunch was good!!! Haha... after lunch, we had a bit of indoor games and we ended the 1st VBS day by teaching the kids a new song call, "每一天". It was suppose to be a dance, but we teach them the dance later. After the whole thing ended, Pr Yang and the helpers stayed back to discuss and debrief and they shared that they were hoping that we can do more visual type of teaching to the kids because the kids only can cope with simple understanding way and would be best to have visual & hearing balance up. Next, we ourselves learn the dance and John con me to teach the helpers the dance. I willingly taught them and they were good! They are able to learn the whole thing easily!! Yun Mei was the only one that was able to do it without hesitation. =) So then, we rested and got ourselves showered with WATER + heater!!!! =D After dinner which is another round of mmmm.... Pr Yang took us for a house visitation to a lady who is paralyze for 18 years. We prayed for her and Wei Xiong had a vision where he shared with us on the way back. He mentioned that he saw a wolves on top of the household. The wolves had strong firm scary eyes but as we pray over the lady and the household, the wolves went away. PTL!! We ended the night by praying over the place we stay in as well as uphold the rest of the days in Santisuk to God.

Day 3 - Ok...started the day with "pork knuckle" for breakfast!!!! OMG? Yes!!! They are all so good people!!! Our eyes were HUGE when we saw the pork knuckle served!!! It was just a crazy breakfast! So, John's sharing about the breastplate of righteousness! He did it with an illustration story that I find it very good! =) *thumbs-up for John* The kids and everyone understands it easily. After that, we teach them the dance and WOW, easily they caught it. Just one lesson and they remembers it already. Cool huh? After that, it was my turn to share. Ok, honestly, I am not satisfied at all. Well, I shared on the Gospel of Peace - Shoe. At starting I didn't use my powerpoint slides because the kids were all restless already. So I march through the Samaritan Woman story and had them to walk a marching in and out...and afterthat I had them to declare as they go in...and I had them to do the dance "每一天". Main reason I wanna do that dance is because the song sung about a new day and moment the kids march it, it is a brand new day that they wear their shoe and march into the battlefield to bring the gospel to the world. =) Nice huh? Well, by thoughts YES. But from my sharing, I ended it with the slides. It was ok afterall. I was quite erm, sad from it because there was a slight language barrier and John was my translator and I think I kinda gave him a hard time because I was using mixture of English and Mandarin. Well, I got confuse! =S *sorry John* So, the whole day, I ponder back what happened and allowed God to teach me through this. =) After lunch, we had outdoor games. It was funny!~ The kids all went hyper. This game time was in-charge by the youths in the church. Awesome! hehe...all we did was just be the station master LOL... We ended the whole thing rather late about 330pm...and by 4pm we head to one of family's house for full moon...they family invited us for a baby dedication time. And Yoke Yong shared on it...with John to translate. And when its time to pray for the baby, AMAZINGLY, the on to go mission John, took out olive oil!!!! WOW...we never thought we'll have it...so Yoke Yong say, it must have been God's planned to put olive oil into John's bag..and we anoint the baby boy with it and a prayer together. =) After that, we went back, rest a bit, showered, and later at night, we went to attend the youth service. Not much of them came but it was ok. Wei Xiong taught them on 2 songs. And after that we went back and prepare the next day stuff. =)

Day 4 - Today's breakfast wasn't pork knuckle. Thank God! Hehe. Well, we didn't have any session in the morning till after lunch. Main reason was the kids all needed to heaed back to school to collect their uniforms. Therefore, what do we do?? We Praise & Worship!! Woohoo~~ haha.. with Wei Xiong and Ah Chang on guitar & drum respectively, the rest of us PW like crazy!!! Haha... it was such a great fun!! Really thank God for such. From English songs till Chinese songs till Malay songs.. wow!~ Bringing Malaysia culture over to Thailand. Hahaha.... Ok, after lunch, we started with Wei Xiong's sharing..where he did an illustration on the 3 friends + 1 bedridden guy. Good one!! After that it ties in with my sister's sharing and we ended everything with having Pr Bee to be our model as each of us help Pr Bee wear the Armour of God. Awesome looking! =) After everything, the kids had games!! Hehe... while we all went to rest and shower. The guys then later after the games and all the kids went home, the whole VBS ended, Wei Xiong and John went play basketball. So as for the rest of us, after our dinner, only we went visit the guys and to my amazement, Ah Li was GOOD! Hahaha..not to say as well, Wei Xiong and John both were good too!! =D... and after the basketball, John felt sick! There were indigestion over his tummy, he had nuts before basketball, and from this discomfort, he vomited. We then prayed for John. Wei Xiong went to have dinner with Ah Li while John begins to pale down. Whole night, all of us were worried. I was worried because John have been really a good guy to help out in everything and now that he felt sick, all we can do is pray for him.

Day 5 - There are cell group time before Sunday service. Yoke Yong and Serene took the Adults CG while Wei Xiong, sis and myself took the youth CG. I did the sharing in the youth CG and whole morning praying God for words, I woke up like super early, I think it was only 615am++ and God was indeed in His grace that He spoke to me to share what I'm really peaceful at, and that is Faith! So I shared regarding that Faith step that Peter took during the storm and simple challenge them to step out of the boat if we want to walk on water. We prayed for them and had a time of personal sharing with them where we again prayed specifically to their needs. =) John is still sick so we had him to stay in bed still. What happened in their service? The kids did a presentation on our favorite song which is "Wo Men Lai Zhan Mei Zhu Ye Su" then followed by a youth presentation on song and another song which Ah Li sang solo...touching as the lyrics of the mandarin song is something like Above All meaning. =) After that, Wei Xiong and myself gave a testimony. Then, the kids went for children church, whereby they had another round of worship and they truly surprise me when they sing Jesus Loves me This i Know in English!!!!! I taught them that song when I did my sharing. Thank you Lord!!!! We then tell them the story of Jonah and the big fish. I told them in perspective of the fish...while my sis ended the whole thing in perspective of Jonah! And we played games. One of the games we play, which was out last game, the kids argued but it was ok then after giving out sweets+jelly+snacks+chocolates. The adults had Yoke Yong to share as their sermon! So we then quickly took our stuff and pack up and went to visit LongNeck Village..it was a short and super short trip. And then, we quickly head down to Mei Chen to meet with Unc Jimmy & gang, and head half way journey for high tea for cakes and throughout the journey John didn't vomit but went toilet instead..and I didn't sleep..so end up chatting with Wei Xiong. Hahah...as we continue our journey to Chiang Mai. As we reach Chiang Mai, we check into a hotel named, Tawan Court. John super not feeling well with dizziness due to the journey...but Thank God he was not vomiting but only heading toilet for big business so he didn't join us for the night bazaar walk! Oh guess what was dinner??? We didn't join dinner with Unc Jimmy & gang..but instead...we went to a place to fulfill our statement, "No eating pork burger is not going Thailand" Hahaha... YES, we had McD!!! LOL....funny, it wasn't tom yum kung that we crave for..but McD pork burger!! Hahhaa...after dinner, we went for the walk at the night bazaar..and Yoke Yong and Wei Xiong became shopping partners!! Hahaha... both of them truly shop til they drop! LOL after all the walking, went back hotel, showered, and I visited John & Wei Xiong whose room was next to mine & sis. John's condition was better off, tummy was no longer upset only that he slept too much and with the journey from ChiangRai to ChiangMai, he felt so dizzy. So we all prayed once again for him and I went back to my room and both myself and sis caught ourselves watching this movie till about 1am Thailand time..which means..in Msia was 2am!!!! Hahaha... =P

Day 6 - Last day in Thailand!! Reflecting it back, it seem so short and I had a feeling of not wanting to go back Malaysia. Hahahaha... =P First thing first, went next door and found out, John is all well!! Praise God!!! So we went and have breakfast...had noodles with fish ball and sausage popiah! And after that, we walk around to see if John can get anything, end up, everywhere close. LOL So we then, pack up and head to the airport where our first stop was CHOCOLATES! Haha... Everyone of us have Thai Baht left so we went and bought and use up it all. John bought some souvenir gifts too... hehe... So off we went to the plane, say bye-bye to Thailand...and it was the journey home. Oh, during the flight this funny thing happen! There were foreign kids. CUTE! So there was this young little boy. He was running and jumping up and down. Then suddenly he stops at where I was sitting. He look at me, I look at him, we did funny faces...and he then taps onto John's hand and wake him up. I was laughing so funny...John got a shock..haha..and quickly the little boy's mom took him back. Hahaha... such a funny scene! LOL But the boy gave John the sweetest smile I've ever saw. Aww...so cute!!! =D =D =D We landed Malaysia towards 5pm...called Seah *thank you again for picking us*....we ask him to drive slow, take his time....why? Because we're hungry, I was hungry, so we ended up in....yup, you guessed it, McD!!! Hahaha... started off with McD...ended with McD also!!! Hahaha.. =P

It was a great indeed good fun experience. Got to know the youths over there... ah liu who is tall and pretty and her Chinese was the best, very fluent indeed, ah li who is the handsome guy..haha.. yes, among the rest..LOL... closest to Wei Xiong and very good heart guy, ah Zhang who is the talented guy who plays the guitar and drum by ear and fast learner too, Yun Mei whom we call her Ah Mei is one of the most attentive one, a worship leader...she was the one that I recognize the most and yes, I miss her!, Yu Mei is very good in dancing...I seldom talk to her but she is good, responsive, and we also have Ah Ching who is also another worship leader...she has a very super high pitch voice! Very sharp pitch! LOL...

The kids memorizing scripture time was the best moment of all... looking at them, truly touches my heart. I met this really cute girl whom I love a lot, her name is Long Chang, and another girl who loves dancing like really putting all her energy to it, Long Ping, and through her I met Ko Chang who is lil sis to Long Ping. These are the ones that I really always say hello too... mostly Long Chang. Each time I look at her....she melts my heart with her smile. She is sooooooo adorable!!! Ahhhh... I highly miss her!!

I truly wanna thank Wei Xiong, Serene, and John Mah. Without them, I don't think we can survive speaking to all and really get to know everyone. John was totally a funny guy that throughout the whole journey never fail to make me and my sister laugh our heads off!!! Hahaha... got to know all of them deeper and truly that binds english and chinese church together. Who say we cannot have combine mission trip?? This is one successful one! Haha.. all the Glory to our God and all Praise to Him. Thank you Jesus, Hallelujah!!!! (v ^_^)

Children "1-day" Camp - Feb 21

Exactly 40 days. The significant of 40 days, I need not explained. But only He can do it all and make it happen!!! 40 days of planning and organizing the "1-Day" Children Church camp is not easy! but during these 40 days, it had been a ride of "no regrets", seeing all teachers and helpers supporting, praying and encouraging in all terms, physically, mentally and spiritually without a single complaint! Thank you! =)

The purpose of the "1-Day" camp was to build a bond between the teachers/helpers and the children of New Life as well as to commermorate with the Parents' Seminar with Peter Lim. Many times, yes, we are bond but there is still that gap. Year 2007, AYO camp was a big success that until now it still impacts!!! This time it was a greater impact especially to the younger ones as they discover themselves able to lead, direct, help, focus, listen and especially worship! This round we have lots of younger ones attending, especially those that was "promoted" from Sugarbuns. I myself got to know those younger ones and Praises to God, we eventually broke their "ice"!! =D

We had 2 speakers whom I called them as typical yet unique "fathers". One who has a father's care and another who is a father himself. Both had their session differently but uniquely caught the attention of the children and even the teachers & helpers. *kudos to both of you and thank you!!* Some parents spoken to me and they mentioned that their kids love and enjoyed themselves!! Even those that usually mentioned "don't know" speaks out what they have enjoyed. The teachers and helpers were the greatest of all. Without them, I would say, this "1-Day" camp will not make it to tis heartbeat!! God indeed sows the passion and heart in them for the love of children. *thank you because you realize the importance of and awesome responsibilities of your position as children ministers and mentors!*

His presence was the utmost importance of all...it is just by our little buckets of sweats that work along to make the "1-Day" Children Camp a success. Glory to Him and Praise the Lord!!

I was Lost but I am Found

this is an outdated but it happens just recently....

it all started..when i was dropping a fren bk..and she guided me home. But..i mistook another road back...*stupid me*.. so i drove, i still thought i was on the right track.. BUT...i ended up in Klang. As I go on driving, looking for sign boards...and all sign boards written.."klang, port klang, etc"...and places i do not even know they exist! so being really scared, and its pouring rain too... i go on driving straight..not doing any U-turn...(wouldn't wanna get lost again)...drove straight to up...and traffic jam..! on that course of the traffic jam... i prayed. "Lord, I'm lost. like really lost. lead me home please."... so thought the traffic jam...i prayed those few words... and once i got out of the traffic jam, the sign board says.. "ibu pejabat balai polis klang"... so i so ve the feeling and urge to just go in and ask for guidance to go bk PJ. so i turn in to the road... and i couldn't find the entrance! craziness...den i was driving so slow..dat the car behind me was being really nice and patience. Guess the person driving knew I was lost somehow. Haha.. so yea, the car behind flashed up, i thought it wanna over take, so i put my signal to the side ..and it indeed over-take me...i was still trying to see where the entrance... where suddenly i decided to just forget bout going into the polis station..i go on driving straight. as i drive, i prayed those words again.. and immediately, "God will make a way" song came into my head and all a sudden an unser was in front of me.. so i sang that song... *one song that i knew the lyrics totally.. haha..duh~ its my fav!*...

so yea..as i sing dat song...i really duno y..but i ve the feeling and urge to just follow the unser... whenever the unser turn..i turn... LOL...den again..suddenly..i duno where did the unser go...and a black wira came to sight... honestly...there weren't many cars on the route i followed the unser... so yea..the black wira was seen..so i den follow the black wira as i enjoy singing the song.. i keep singing it...i saw the sign board.. "shah alam, kl"...wow praise God!!! =)

so the wira was heading there too...i knew den God was guiding me...so i went following the sign board and the wira... and all a sudden no sign of KL already and duno where did the black wira went.....i was like.."oh no!'....but yet i still keep singing..and i ask God.. "where is the black wira?"... den a silver waja came.. there was no car nearby me except that..so i followed..and i sing the song again! =D...

den the waja got me back to PJ... and when i reach PJ..i ended up in SS1... yes, i was so happy that I praise God...i thought i would know the way back from SS1...because somehow Charm's & Zoe's house is somehow nearby and is both SS1 & SS3... so den..shouldn't be that difficult to find way bk. so i drove on..the waja duno went where already when i notice i was in SS1.... den i drove and i realize..i'm still no matter how..in SS1... hmm...i was still singing God will make a way....i den came to a traffic light... there was no car behind me. so only me and the traffic light. there were cars on my left traffic light and right traffic light...the moment my side was green...i didn't move. first is because i duno whether to turn left or right. Its a T-junction...so only left and right. i really duno. other cars were looking at me. but i was still puzzle. all i know is turn left, is still SS1, turn right is still SS1...so i duno, no cars were behind me..so i just stop there and continue worshipping lo. out of sudden, a van came next to my car. it was red dat time. and once it reaches my right, the traffic light turn green. den the van turn right. I den happily follow the van...

guess wat? the van brought me to church! yes.. OUR church! Praise God. Moment I recognize where I was... I Praise God and Thank God that I'm from New Life!!!!!! =D =D=D =D.... so den i knew how to get home... =D

being crazy...seriously... i am... but when u r lost.. 1st thing, tell God.. and He will find you. He will indeed make a way for you to get back on the right track. He indeed guided me..and best, He guided me back to church!! no other place else...but His house! How great and amaze is our God!!!! =D.... there is no other place but New Life!!! I love You Jesus...and I love being NewLifer!!! its the church that I know my way bk home. How cool~!

i really thank God...i was indeed really scared...i was sms-ing my fren to tell her that i was lost...of course she kept saying sorry..but it wasn't her fault. i took the wrong route..that all. but that lead me to really surrender the journey to God. Moment i realise i ended up in Klang...to the trafic jam...i really wanna to cry...but my fren was there to sms me...and with all the sms...it got me not to cry..but motivate me to move on.. her sms..accompanied me throughout the massive jam in klang. (thank you!!! *muax*) and moment i got out of the jam... we didn't sms already...and that is where God took over. He gave me my fren...to be an accompaniment.. so awesome is our God... i can really believe that while i was in the jam...God must ve created those cars for me to follow. =)... isn't He fantastic?????? when i reach home, i thank God and praise Him again.

God is always watching us. And whenever our lives seem to turn upside down.. whenever our lives seems to be tested... don't give up. stand strong...hold that faith in you.. and rely and know that in the midst of everything, He is preparing a way for you...and while He is doing it... those bits of goodness that comes along the situation that you're facing.. so long anything that makes you smile, that is from Him. i always like this quote..its from a series that i love watching over and over again.. it says.."just give it a smile, nothing cannot be overcome"...and what I've encountered was one breakthrough of Faith & Friends...that i never thought it was possible for me to reach home...but God is possible of all impossibilities. I was really lost but I am found because He made a way when my Faith was tested. =)

Blessed Day! God is AWESOME!

Childlike Faith Heals (4 Nov 08)

Just wanna share what happened on my way to office after dealing with stuff outside office...I was coughing like madness. I don’t have water/sweet around me. I just cough like mad! Suddenly the little girl next to me pats my back and says.. "God heals".. WOW...tat moment...it felt like Father in Heaven touches me and automatically I stopped coughing..!! Amazing. Despite how I am feeling awful.. God never fail to just make me realize that He is in the midst of it all, isn't He just WOW! hahaha.. I just so Love God!!! :)

I got to know that the lady is a Christian...coz I look at the girl with amazement of what she said and the mom thought I was offended, so she quickly just mentioned that she is a Christian and she teaches her daughter the power of healing hands with a touch of faith to the sick one. Another WOW!!!!!! I tell u... I am proud of God's creation!!! Awesomeness~~!! We are all always talking bout faith. Keeping the Faith~ But today, I witness a truly authentic God's healing hands through of a childlike faith.

So what says you?? I say WOW! ^_^ I trust God work in everyone of us and I trust God work in every child in New Life. Who knows, someone else is also be heal today. My sister reminded me that so nicely I was reading a book regarding about Faith by Smith Wigglesworth and this happened.. WOW... she also mentioned that God knows how to show me what Faith can truly do in our lives.. :)

Plus, what I've learn about yesterday's ISOM in Book of Romans is all starts with Joy...end with Joy...in between is righteousness and peace... and to believe that God lives in righteousness, peace and joy.. Isn’t that cool? And by believing, it requires faith. Now, see what God is trying to say!! :)

Leaders' Summit (26-28 Oct 08)

“Hmm, I wonder what will happen.”; “What do they do there actually?”; “I’ll just enjoy the fellowship and the retreat from the reality world”. I asked and told it to God like million zillion times before the day actually comes. However, one thing very different from this year’s leaders’ summit (according to history, seldom we have 2 speakers together before) is that this year, both speakers are speaking in different universe but all under the context of God’s Word!! Pr Giancarlo Elia and his beautiful wife, Catherine, spoke about love, Daddy God’s love. Basically and practically, the whole Bible is all about His love for us!!! Isn’t that awesome? On the other hand, Pr Kelley spoke on the technicality side, giving testimonies of frameworks that are workable and in brief, analytical! In knowing from both great and awesome speakers, we get a balance of both sides that in my point of view, it can’t go on without both. Leaders of the church need the know-how on planning and organizing as well as ministering to the members of the church and community. Thus I put to a very easy end point for me which was…. “No one say that being a leader is easy, but it can be simple so long you allowed God to be in the picture.”

During this leaders’ summit, it was my first experience, and God indeed put my heart a deeply love feeling that I never knew it so clear that I actually love Jesus so much that I grow to know Him, to serve Him and to love Him evermore as my life is saved by Him. My heart moved for people who just cannot seem to find their place. These people feel lost, empty, out of place, floundering. Some are discouraged; some are depressed; some are anxious; some are hopeful; some are searching; some have given up. I began praying that one day, or maybe today, will be a day of breakthrough for them. I began praying that the right job, the right ministry opportunity, the right words, the right whatever it is they need will be there for them. I began praying that God will open doors and lead them through. I began praying for encouragement and guidance. I began praying for joy, excitement and blessings of the heart and spirit. I began praying for contentment, initiative, passion, thankfulness in their attitudes today. May they look to God, guard their heart for God and receive the gifts from God that have in store for them. And may God, our wonderful gracious Daddy God, be glorified as in Proverbs 4:23 say, “Above all else, guard your heart for it is the well springs of life” (NIV). It is easy to say, “I love You, Jesus” but not many know that it is also simple to understand and truly believe that His everlasting love is and for us.

Aside from it all, I totally enjoy the fellowship…food-family-fun!! I get to know so many great leaders even more. And I am proud to say that New Life leaders’ are one great humble yet generous yet big hearted yet awesomely God-given, God-chosen ones. And I’m blessed to be with this family in New Life. Thank you and Praise You Jesus! :)
